Coming out of a longish pause into a whole kit and caboodle of *play*, Ultra, and grace
This month in Hit Pause, Then Play, I come out of a longish pause into a whole kit and caboodle of play, turn you onto a gripping podcast, and invite you to ask ... and maybe even find ... grace.
🎉 3 fun things that are happening!
1. Tax and sex in the same talk - what?! (Pleasure, Passion and Play)
A good friend of mine did a very funny standup over in Northern Ireland a bit ago, and I was tickled pink. My work played a bit role. Jo takes to the stage for about 10 minutes, doing something I absolutely admire and doing it absolutely brilliantly! Talk about courage. Talk about gumption. Talk about living the Ridiculous Life out loud and eyes wide open. 💥
I recommend watching the whole sketch, but if you want to find out just what happened that day in early June in the south of France between four ladies out for a drive, skip directly here.
2. October is for doing some of the things I love most …(Play and Pleasure)
I am heading on over to Amsterdam to run my newest 90-minute session called “Hack Your Head: Rewiring Your Creative Circuit Board” at the Design Thinkers Conference on 10-11 October. Come meet and work and play with me! In FACT, if you use my code JULIE25 at checkout, you’ll get 25% off your ticket. Sooo … go ahead. Push the button. Come meet me in person - I want to meet you in person! 💗🧠
3. … and November, too! (Pleasure, Passion, Pause, Purpose and Play - the jackpot! 🔥)
Last but not least … there’s a rumour I might be … taking to the stage in Germany … a first TEDx talk … on … something we don’t talk enough about … (can you guess what that is?) 😏
When? 16 November.
I’m starting to get a little excited. If you come, I’ll be even more excited …
💡 2 things that are inspiring me
🎙️ Ultra podcast by Rachel Maddow - Start with Season 1 (of 2). This came highly recommended - and I am HOOKED. I am just starting Season 2 now. If you are at all interested in conditions that render countries, including the United States, anti-democratic - and are curious about what history can teach us - give this a listen. It is so well done.
As a new authoritarian movement rises in American politics, stoked by one of the country’s most outrageous demagogues, there is an all-out international manhunt for an American traitor. The U.S. Army’s Nazi war crimes trials in Germany have been infiltrated by a spy -- a mole for the other side. A gruesome foreign influence operation unfolds in Washington. A blackmail plot turns deadly in the U.S. Senate. A Hail Mary scheme to stop the counting of the Electoral College votes rattles democracy’s cage. With the line between the violent ultra-right and mainstream American politics fraying beyond recognition, with the FBI always one step behind their quarry, Americans of all stripes step up to confront a seemingly unstoppable, ascendant, anti-democratic force.
If you feel like sharing your audiobook with me, or want to hear mine, message me! It would be so much fun to share these. 🙌
🔥1 spark for you
Asking for help is an act of service. It allows the people who love you to be there to support you.
When was the last time you asked, opened your arms, and gracefully received?
Anything else?
Some other fun things are happening, too!

We’re looking forward to launching it together on line for our global audience and in person for our European readers in the coming months. Watch this space - and reach out if you’d like to learn more about the book and the launch events!
